GRDF joins CO₂ value europe to boost carbon valorization

We’ve joined CO₂ Value Europe to strengthen our commitment to CO₂ capture and utilization (CCU). By supporting bioCO₂ valorization from biomethane, we contribute to emission reduction and circular carbon management while promoting the integration of renewable gases into the energy system.

GRDF strengthens its partnership with Floene !

During President Macron's visit to Portugal, GRDF CEO Laurence Poirier-Dietz joined discussions on economic cooperation. GRDF and Floene renewed their partnership with an MoU signed alongside Marc Ferracci, Minister Delegate for Industry and Energy. This agreement accelerates the renewable gas transition and supports the EU’s goal of producing 35 bcm of biomethane by 2030. Earlier, GRDF had welcomed a Portuguese delegation, including Floene and agricultural representatives. Currently, few biogas plants are connected to Portugal's gas network which is why a study tour was organized as part of a consulting contract signed with Floene.

 

 

Highlighting France’s Biomethane Model : European Biogas Conference


At the European Biogas Conference, GRDF showcased France’s rapid biomethane development. Xavier Passemard, GRDF’s Director of Biomethane, emphasized how the French model integrates seamlessly with agriculture, ensuring sustainable production without competing with food supply.

 

 

 

Biomethane Connect Europe : GRDF and GD4S join forces to accelerate the development of biomethane

On March 27-28, 2025, GD4S and GRDF organized Biomethane Connect Europe in Paris, bringing together European gas distributors, industry leaders, and policymakers to accelerate biomethane development. France’s successful model highlights biomethane as a key element of a sustainable energy mix. GRDF is committed to supporting its growth, enhancing energy security, and contributing to Europe’s gas decarbonization.

Laurence Poirier-Dietz is the new president of the GD4S !

Since October 9, 2023, Laurence Poirier-Dietz, CEO of GRDF, has been elected president of Gas Distributors for Sustainability (GD4S), alongside Jeroen Sanders, VP and CTO at Enexis Groep. GRDF is honored to lead at this crucial time, with a unique opportunity to drive Europe’s decarbonization and show that our networks are vital to achieving the EU’s climate goals.

Strengthening Ties with Poland: Hosting PSG Delegation for Biomethane Discussions

As part of our partnership, GRDF welcomed Jacek Podgorski, CEO of Polska Spółka Gazownictwa (PSG), and Sylwia Gladysz, Manager of the Compliance and International Cooperation Office, to our new headquarters in Saint-Denis and Rennes. Our CEO and teams discussed the potential of biomethane in Poland's energy mix, Poland's role in the broader European context, best practices in distribution infrastructure, and the support needs of our Polish partner.

 

 

Strengthening our partnership in Japan !

In March 2024, a GRDF delegation visited Japan to meet with Tokyo Gas Networks, Toho Gas, and Osaka Gas. Key topics included hydrogen, e-methane, renewable gases, and 2050 goals, along with field visits. The trip offered valuable insights into Japanese distribution methods and strengthened GRDF's partnership with Tokyo Gas Networks.

 

 

Learning expedition in California with PG&E and SoCalGas !

In October 2024, GRDF met with Californian gas distributors Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) and SoCalGas. This visit reaffirmed our 2019 partnership with SoCalGas, with both CEOs signing a letter to strengthen collaboration on green gases and gas distribution. It also provided an opportunity to explore PG&E, with whom we began biomethane discussions in 2023 and partner with in the North American research organization OTD.

 

 

READY4H2 Phase 3 : Europe for Hydrogen !


Thomas Muller, Hydrogen Director at GRDF, was appointed chairman of the Ready4H2 Steering Committee for its third phase. In this role, he will lead efforts on hydrogen distribution, support related regulations, and strengthen the project’s influence with key European partners.

Learning Expedition in Switzerland !

Learning Expedition on the recovery of organic waste into renewable gas injected into the HOLDIGAZ SA distribution network and the return of matter to the soil. This visit took place alongside the companies Ecorecyclage SA, Green Creative, and TreaTech.
